FALL 2013: BAND OF OUTSIDERS

'Strong-shouldered shapes redolent of Hollywood's film noir heyday, plus Space Invaders and Pong: Why not?'

I don't know what it is, but somehow Scott Sternberg continues to maintain feminity when designing a menswer inspired women's collection. Band of Outsider's Fall show paid homage to the sassy minxes rocking capes in the winter season's like it's nobodies business. To his credit, Sternberg successfully pulled off this style - converting the awkwardness of arm/ hand placement into a powerful stance of a female caped crusader. Menswear references were softened by their slouchy, feminine cut and woollen textures - be it pinstriped shirtdresses, micro-check suits, pleated skirtsuits and nipped-waist pencil dresses.

It's clear that a Band girl unlike a Bond girl is a strong, knit turban cap wearing, independent woman that don't need no man here's to you T-bag
